Many home's heating & cooling systems were installed over-sized when insulation was in-efficient and houses were drafty. Some homeowners have upgraded insulation values, replaced windows, added caulking and weather-stripping reducing the heating & cooling requirements. A new replacement HVAC system needs to be sized correctly. A correctly sized HVAC system will provide the comfort desired and save large amount of energy.
We can help you with this sizing process!
All HVAC Heat Load reports have to be pre-paid.HVAC Heat Load reports available only to licence HVAC Contractors and/or Wholesalers. A copy of the state issued licence must be on-file with us.
Correct system sizing requires considering many factors other than simply reading the nameplate of the existing unit. Key factors for correctly sizing a heating and cooling system include the following:
- The local climate
- Size, shape, and orientation of the house
- Insulation levels
- Window area, location, and type
- Air infiltration rates
- The number and ages of occupants
- Occupant comfort preferences
- The types and efficiencies of lights and major home appliances (which give off heat).
Heatload CalculationsOur Heating & Cooling reports are a complete residential computerized calculation used to determine how much heating/cooling a home needs to stay cool and dry during the summer or warm during the winter. This load calculation process was developed by engineers in the heating and air conditioning industry and has been used for decades to accurately size heating and air-conditioning equipment.
Once you have this complete load calculation, you will have the certainty of selecting a properly sized system to satisfy the load of your property.
